Welcome to
Little Lights has served this community since 2003 and is recognized by local elementary schools for children being well-prepared academically and socially for entering Kindergarten. Our staff takes great joy in fostering your child’s curiosity for learning, expanding their experiences, and sharing with them the love of Jesus!
Classes
Pre-Kindergarten classes, for children aged 4 thru 5, are offered mornings and afternoons during the school year, September thru May, typically 2 or 3 days per week.
Preschool classes, for children aged 2 ½ thru 4 years, are offered mornings only.
We also provide an optional Full Day program, with available hours of 7:00am to 5:30pm, as well as a Summer Fun session during June/July/August.
Pre-K for 4 and 5 year olds
Learning experiences, physical and academic, are tailored by their teachers to serve the growing abilities of this age. Expectations, gradually increased, are met with smiles of accomplishment whether it is a math concept, recalling a book detail, sharing a creative moment, or printing a letter successfully! Much of the learning and exploration happens in small groups, led by the teacher. Respect for one another is practiced as problem-solving and thinking for themselves is encouraged.
Preschool, 3 and 4 year olds
Children in this class are exposed to a wealth of center activities fostering their growth and development, These are selected purposefully, providing discovery along theme lines, for sensory exploration, fine motor skills, role playing and more. Teachers make individual connections with each child, supporting their learning and guiding them in developing appropriate social skills. Various teaching styles are used to engage every child in times of group learning. The joy of sharing good books together is a highlight of every day!
Preschool, Younger 3 year olds & almost
This is a classroom of discovery for 3's, and almost 3's, using various centers of interest and table top options of manipulatives that draw them to explore. Even in this youngest group, teachers plan and use thoughtful first beginnings to engage children’s cooperation in following directions and to foster learning new skills such as participating in circle time, recognizing letters, expanding vocabulary, and beginning to count, without ignoring the primary focus of this age---valuable play and early social connections. For children who are potty-trained.
Jesus Time – Included for All
This Bible learning time is included each week for all the children attending Little Lights. It is led by the Director, to help each child begin to understand who Jesus is and His great love for each of us. Visuals, songs, and Bible verses are used to help recall the truth they are learning from God's word.
